How can we help?
Quick answers to common questions. If yours is not here, write to us and a person will reply.
Getting started
- Allow Screen Time. Still uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) to shield the apps you choose.
- Choose your apps. Pick them in Apple’s own list. Their names stay between you and iOS.
- Start a focus session from the Focus tab, or set a schedule or timed block from the Apps tab.
Common questions
How do I set up Screen Time access?
During setup, tap Allow access and approve Apple’s Screen Time prompt, then tap Choose apps. If you said no earlier, open Settings › Screen Time on your iPhone, or use the Setup guide in Still under Settings.
My chosen apps are not being shielded.
Check that Screen Time access is allowed for Still, that you have chosen at least one app, and that a focus session, schedule or timed block is running. iOS only lets Still change shields while it is running, so open Still once when a schedule is due to start or end.
How do I lift a shield early?
Open Still, then end your focus session, switch off the schedule, or end the timed block from Apps › Block apps for a set time.
What is the pause?
When you open an app you have set a pause for through Still, a short breathing moment appears first. Change its length in Settings › Pause length.
What does Strict mode do?
Strict mode prevents bypassing limits until the timer ends. Turn it off in Settings › Behavior for more flexibility. You can also set how many extensions you get per day.
How do schedules work?
A schedule applies your shield during the hours and days you choose, like a wind-down before bed. Create and switch them on or off from the Schedules screen.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password?, enter your email and we will send you a 6-digit code. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder.
How do I change my password?
Go to Settings › Account › Change password. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can set a password there without entering a current one.
What happens to my data as a guest?
Guest data is stored under an anonymous account. If you delete the app or sign out of a guest account it cannot be recovered. Use Save your progress in your profile to keep it with an email, Apple or Google sign-in.
I signed in on a new iPhone and nothing is blocked.
Screen Time choices stay on the device they were made on. On the new iPhone, allow Screen Time access and choose your apps again, using the Setup guide in Settings.
Your account and data
Export your data
Open Profile › Export my data to get your data as JSON or CSV.
Delete your account
Open Profile › Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything tied to it. If you cannot get into the app, email us from the address you signed up with and we will do it for you.
See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and why.
Turning things off in iOS
- Screen Time access: Settings › Screen Time › Still (or Apps with Screen Time Access).
